There has been a fair bit of Christmas Quilting going on in this house over the last few weeks, so having finally got them finished and packed up in Mum and Dad's suitcases to head back to England, here is what we have been up to:
Gift No. 1: A Christmas gift for a Special Little Lady back home. I made this about 40" x 60" so it is perfect for snuggling on the sofa
The pattern is my own design, heavily inspired by wanting to showcase the beautiful set of fat quarters that I bought from Spool
I also added a special fabric from my stash - some Munki Mushrooms, to give it a whimsical touch.
It is backed in pink dotty minky to make it extra snuggly.
Gift No. 2: A Christmas Quilt for a special little man back home!
The binding still has to be hand stitched (which Mum has said she will kindly do because of my tight deadline with getting this done!)
Its backed in red minky fabric and the fat quarter set came from spool again (although they seem to have run out of this set now) I made my own pattern for this quilt.
Gift No. 3: A Baby Gift for a very special imminent arrival!
Made using the fabulously talented Oh Fransson's Baby Quilt pattern with wonderful step by step photo directions on how to piece this quilt, add a minky backing AND make one of her wonderful appliques!! This is a great pattern for any newby quilter!
Gift No. 4: Another gift for a very special imminent arrival!!
More traditional style baby quilt, using soft and snuggly flannels using a pattern from Elizabeth Keevil's book - Quick Quilts for Kids
and a cute minky heart backing....
Gift No. 5: Accessories to go with special baby quilts!
The Bunny was made using Wee Wonderful's free pattern here
Gift No. 6 Baby Quilt for a friend who has just has a beautiful baby girl
Using Alexander Henry's Noah's Ark fabric on the front...
and on the back!
and a cute little girly baby outfit to go with it:
