I have had one more quilt to make prior to Tuesday morning when Sweet Uncle Austen will be heading back to England, where it will be given as a Christmas gift.
There is so much wonderful eye candy to see with retro-game inspired quilts and having drooled over this one, this one, this one and this one - I started to think that perhaps it was a good idea to attempt it...in 2 days (?!!)
I scoured the internet for HOURS, literally HOURS to try and find a perfect screen shot of Mario that I could digitise in photoshop and having nearly given up all hope, I spotted this mario cart image.
The quilt is 40" x 54" and backed in a really soft and plush minky fabric. Each square is 2" and there are around 900 in this quilt! It took me about 14 hours to cut out and put together and then about 4 hours to quilt it, as the quilting is really small.
and a shot of the back of the quilt prior to quilting it:
I hope the recipient likes it!
