Our love of Starbucks Lattes but intense dislike of the cost of Starbucks Lattes, has resulted in the investment of our very own espresso machine....its good, really good and the barista is pretty cute too!
...and we found this rather large box sitting on our porch:
Jay excitedly brought it in and secomds later, in a disappointed voice said 'Dee - what have you ordered for the cat??'
The parcel, was surprisingly enough, adressed to Jasper - which I found incredibly amusing! especially seen as though, I had in fact not ordered anything for Jasper...
Upon opening the box, we discovered a gift from our incredibly sweet and funny auntie and uncle - Cally and Robin, who had decided Jasper was in need of a new plaything...
Jasper approves, as do the children who are half expecting him to take off at any moment! (although we have tried to talk that through with them, Maddy is still asking when he is going to fly around the room)
I am lucky to have such sweet (if a little mad!) relatives - this parcel really made me chuckle and I have been smiling at it ever since - thank you xxx
So for the past couple of nights I have been trying my hand at cake-balls. Having seen them on the wonderfully talented bakerella (where you can get step by step photo directions) I decided I would like to make some for Maddy's Birthday coming up - so set about having a trial run tonight. I could literally squeal with delight over how they came out - sooooo cute!!
They are made of red velvet cake with an almond bark coating - and although they are by no means as aesthetically pleasing as Bakerella's, they are yummy...
I can just see little pink versions made of strawberry cake all lined up for Maddy's party!
I was chuffed to bits to be asked to be a part of the SewConnected quilting group - along with 12 other quilters. Each month I get a little package of fabric in the mail and following any guidelines sent along with the fabric, I have to make a 12.5" x 12.5" quilt block.
The finished block and remaining fabric is sent back to that months recipient. These are the first 4 months of blocks I have produced (I made 2 for January!)
Info for SewConnected can be found here on flickr and I believe since the start of ours back in September, there have been 3 more sewconnected groups set up!
My month for sending out fabric is November - and I am thinking Christmas colours...
