I have drooled over this pattern for months and months now, but never ever thought I had the patients to do it. However with a project in mind for a very special friend of mine, I wanted to push myself to do something I had never done before, so I bit the bullet and bought it.
The pattern was, indeed time consuming - with lots of tracing and planning happening before any fabric was ever cut out and sewn, but I love it, and I want to keep it (but I won't!)
All the fabrics came from my scrap pile, which I was really happy about and I paired the fabrics with a soft white flannel for the backing and the background.
The low loft natural batting and two layers of flannel make it a wonderful weight and really soft and cozy. I am looking forward to gifting it to its intended recipient later on this summer...
