Its done - hoorah! But I know it will be a work in progress for a while with bits and pieces being added and making it more Maddified.
So here is the grand tour...
The bed - quilt by Mama, using Oh Franssons Patter here and Heather Ross Mermaid fabric. Its a biggy - too big in fact! I seemed to make a queen sized quilt when I only needed to make a full size - no idea what happened there, or how I didn't figure it out sooner!!
Anyways, it has the Maddy stamp of approval, along with Jasper's approval also. I added cushions using up the leftover mermaid fabric and some cute pink swirly minky. The mirrors behind the headboard are all thrifted and pre-loved. The crown on top is from Hobby Lobby and Maddy seems to love this the most!
The bed is vintage and re-furbished/painted by this talented lady. Local people, seriously go check out her blog and her creations. I was completely blown away with her skills and eye for design. She also re-painted and distressed the side tables for me which were in a pretty bad state before! She did an awesome job with everything!
The vanity is a work of art - I love it and more to the point Maddy adores it. It is so pink and girly but with lots of vintage charm. The mirror was thrifted (a very lucky find!!) and was the inspiration behind the gold mirror collection by Mads bed.
The curtains are simple white broadcloth curtain (on offer for $10 at Target!!) with pockets sewn on to them to match the quilt binding. The valance was also a clearance item at target and cost about $5! I think I am able to pick up really good deals for our house because I plan ideas in my head for so long before they ever come together.
After a trip to the American Girl store in Dallas for Maddy's Birthday treat, she now has her very own American Girl Doll - Amy. Amy's space was also given the royal treatment with a matching mermaid quilt, matching pillows and her own gold mirror!
I am super excited with how this vision all pulled together and especially excited that our little lady loves it.
