We are currently in the Bermuda Triangle of the US calendar - Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is insanely busy right now - and we haven't got huge plans for Thanksgiving to sort out either (so I really feel for anyone doing all this and hosting a huge dinner)
School is packed with projects and activities and it was also coincided this week with Maddy having her week at school, meaning that each day there is a new activity to take in from home.
The week was very special for Maddy - it was her turn to be 'Marvelous Me' in which a whole week is dedicated to her and special activities are planned for her. We got to spend the weekend created a huge poster of her likes - which I think I enjoyed much more than Maddy did. Long after she went to bed last Sunday, I still had the hot glue gun in hand and was adding to the poster having a whale of a time!
Maddy got to choose snacks for the class on one day and decided upon donuts - very special donuts from a charming little donut shop a few miles away from us. They were a hit with all 25 kids.
In addition to the activities for Maddy's week - we also had to create a pilgrim for Maddy to take to school. The pilgrim had to reflect our family background, so the Scottish roots in Jason's family were tapped into and we created our kilt-wearing pilgrim. Jason suggested I track down some of the families proper tartan.....nice idea, but no!
Joshy's class was also busy with their preparations for a Thanksgiving feast they hosted and all the parents were serenaded with Thanksgiving songs and hand made gifts followed by trailmix made by their own fair hands.
So the insanely busy week is now over, the kiddies are at school for just 2 more days before they get 5 days off for Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to lounging around for a few days. Cooking a roast dinner on Thanksgiving and generally being a bum for a few days to regroup....
