Sometimes I catch a glimpse of my kids and its like they have grown up just a little bit more...overnight...it shocks me.
We had one of those moments this weekend when Jay and I got a lovely unexpected lie-in on Saturday morning. The kids got up, came downstairs and started playing...simple as that. New era - I am liking it!
Our weekend was spent relaxing and heading off to kiddie-related activities. Whilst the boys of the house went out for burgers on Saturday night, the girls partied...Girl Scout style. Maddy's Brownie troop had their Fall party, so Cleopatra attended and had a fun time of playing, pumpkin decorating, hotdog eating and marshmallow roasting.
I am a co-leader for Maddy's Girl Scout group this year, which is proving to be alot of fun. We also undertook a service project at the party and each girl decorated a birthday bag and filled it with cake mix, candles, party items and treats. These bags will be heading to the homeless shelter to have on hand when they have a birthday to celebrate. Isn't that a wonderful idea?
Today, of course it the big day - we will be heading to Church for a carnival tonight, where treat bags will be filled with candy and other sugar-filled snacks no doubt....getting them to bed tonight will be interesting! :o)
