Its been a busy week awash with girl scout cookies, brownie meetings, sewing pillowcase dresses, getting ready for teacher appreciation week, finalising details for Maddy's Birthday party and celebrating my very own 34th Birthday on Valentines day.
In the midst of it all, Maddy had to complete a 'cereal box' book report. Her chosen subject: Seahorses. She typed, printed and cut out all her own text to go on the box and drew a picture of a seahorse to go on the front. She told me she would get extra credits for putting something into the box that related to her book. She announced she wanted a seahorse to go in there.
Its only when you start looking locally for toy seahorses, that you realise that there are none in this neck of the woods. So online I went to look for a pattern (as we do not have the time to order one and have it delivered) I came across this pattern et voila! One seahorse sewn!
I even managed to dig out some Heather Ross seahorse fabric to piece it...is it just me that is tickled that its a seahorse made from seahorse fabric?? Yeah, probably just me!
This weekend we will be pounding the pavement in our neighbourhood, selling girl scout cookies, getting more ready for a certain little ladies Birthday party next weekend, see cute invite from PurPinkBlessingson Etsy, fantastic price and great to work with.

Wow!! Aren't you a clever Mom... I would have panicked and gone to eating chocolate. Go you!! I bet she was a happy daughter!!

No, you're not alone - I love that you used seahorse fabric too!
My kids saw the picture and now they want their own. Better pull out the scraps! Wish I had some Heather Ross too!

I have a granddaughter who is into all things oceanic, so a softie seahorse may be in her future.
