I love the Fall.
The cooler days and changing colours make it my favourite season.
I guess that may be why I have so many fall decorations. More pumpkins than you could shake a stick at in fact. (All bought at Hobby Lobby at 90% off I may add!)
But there is this day that falls towards the end of Autumn, which is pretty big over here - Halloween.
We didn't ever celebrate Halloween prior to living in the US, but it is HUGE here and even though it is only August, I have already seen Halloween decorations going up in the stores.
One such store today was the Dollar Tree and it got me thinking how easy it is to add a few cheap items and give it a Halloween twist.
So I picked up a few items to give it a go - all of the above came from the Dollar Tree along with a bag of spiders web-stuff.
The bag of spider rings are great because the back is in two parts (not one complete ring) so it can be easily hung on the spiders webs, pumpkins, frames...anything.
The web table runner was from Khols a week after Halloween last year and was 90% off.
I used me Christmas and webs to spooky it up. Along with a cute cut-out photo of Mads and Josh. I got mine here but I think a photo printed onto cardstock would work just as well.
A dollar for orange string lights - how can you go wrong?!
All of the other decor came from the big craft stores after Halloween in previous years and all with 90% off. Most people know to look at the Hobby Lobby clearance section to find bargains, but I have also had great success with Michael's, JoAnns, Khols and Walgreens too.
