With the kids at school this week, I have been at a bit of a loss for what to do.
I knew they were going back, but I had only planned for their return and not thought beyond that.
Last year's return was a little different - they were younger and taking them along to the grocery store or fabric shop was more arduous. This year they just tagged along with me - often with the promise of a trip to the splash pad after.
I thought abut finishing up one of the many sewing projects I have on the go, but decided instead to start a new one!
My boy is obsessed with Minecraft, hence the quilt block above (a creeper I think?!) Minecraft really lends itself perfectly to quilting - because it is all pixelated anyways. I have started sketching layouts for this quilt, but nothing that hits the mark quite yet.
To be continued...
In the midst of the Minecraft planning a little box of fabric arrived. Fabric with four more quilts in mind::
All gifts - all needing to be done before Christmas::
All using patterns from my own head::
Which is always a little more taxing than a published pattern and much more room for error.
Today I am hoping to sandwich this quilt. The back is pieced, the batting is ready.
But with the new box of fabric calling me, i'm not too sure that will get done today either!
