One final push this weekend meant that I was able to finish up my 'Mystery Quilt' quilt top (a project I am heading up for our local Modern Quilt Guild)
Shes a beaut!
I left my comfort zone to use batiks - which I have always steered clear of before.
I am hoping to piece the back this week so the fun part can begin - the quilting.
Other work happening in the house is the re-do of the laundry:
Jay has pulled up the floor to put tiles down...which lead to me wanting to paint it...which lead to me wanting to pull out the far cabinets so that something a little more functional can be installed, like this::
So he went ahead an removed all the cabinets intact so that we can transfer them upstairs (for another future project)
The floor is looking good. We chose a tile that looks just like wood (you can even feel the grain in it!) I love the look of wood but this will be so much more hardwearing and easy to clean. It will also eliminate the creaks and noises - like the wood in the kitchen.
I love it!
