I think, that if we ever anticipated how hard an international move would be, with two school aged kids, two cats and a pug...we may have been too scared to do it.
Life seems to be moving so fast at time and then soooooo slow at others.
We have found a house, a really nice little house - just down the road from my parents and my brother and his family (a literal 4 minute walk each way!) and just a few miles down the road from Jay's family.
We had viewed many many houses and even put an offer in on another one (that was rejected) as soon as I stepped through the front door, I knew that THIS is our house. It needs work - something Jay and I said we didn't want to take on again, but the reality is - there will always be work to do, to make it your own.
The garden is amazing. Big enough for having the whole family over for BBQ's.
The stairs seem to invoke horror or glee in people - it seems you either love them or hate them, there is no in between. I personally, love them.
So, with our offer accepted, we are in the throws of legal searches, mortgage offers and all the other house buying nonsense that takes so long. We are hoping...praying...to be in by Christmas.
To have 'our space' again will be a blessing.
